Why Go For A Bachelors Degree Rather Than A Certificate?
|
A certificate is a document certifying that a person has received a certain education or that you have passed a test or a series of tests depending on the certification; like at a vocational school. These types of courses are usually completed in 9 weeks. Certificates are not meant to be a substitute for 4 years of college study and education.
When applying for jobs in today’s job market you want your Resume to look as great as possible. Most employers are looking for educated as well as talented people. They are looking for people who earned more than just a Certificate because in their rationale that person has more stability and more determination because he/she bothered to go the whole route. A bachelor’s degree can be earned at many of your local community colleges. For example, if you wanted to work in a financial instruction as a loan officer or a financial advisor having a certificate in something like “Principles of Banking” sounds wonderful. But compared to someone who has a Bachelors degree in Accounting, Business Economics or Business Administration, your Resume can show up lacking in the educational requirements for the job. Certificate programs are discipline courses designed to fulfill certain professional development requirements or simply to take a few courses that interest you. Certificates are not necessarily meant to replace a college degree but to enhance it or prepare you for your degree study. It is best to visit one of the community colleges in your area and see a guidance counselor for advice on education for your chosen career field. |
